During the last week of February and the first week of March, we know that Spring is here!
Trout are still chewing, Pompano are still on the beach, and the Fry have returned. With the Fry (bait) returning, we are seeing more of our top predators moving back into the Ten Thousand Islands. This week we experienced large schools of Jack Crevalle, Tarpon, and Snook moving to the outside points.
Now that Snook season is open (March 1st – April 31st), we will have our clients / anglers gambling for the slot (28 in. – 33 in.).
While targeting Snook, we’ve had awesome bi-catches, including Shark, Jack Crevalle, and delicious Redfish.
Pictured below, this 27 in. Redfish was caught while Snook fishing. Second picture is our surprise, as a second rod went screaming, with what we believe was a Snook.
With Spring’s arrival, we can only expect more of this and better!
