The fishing was hot these two months. On board we had a number of Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, and Tarpon encounters. The fry and bait hatch this summer was something I have not seen in many years, fishing the area. I do credit the proper management that we have been receiving in Florida waterways the last two years. Thank you Gov. DeSantis.

The Snook bite was on fire, my clients used a variety of baits to catch these fish. Best tactic over the summer was live baiting with fresh netted pilchards and mullet. Other baits like artificial swim baits and top water lures worked as well, which helped with locating the fish.

The Redfish were the bi-catch these months with some higher numbers than I have seen in previous years. The Sea trout were bitting as well in the same areas. It was just a solid two months of happy customers.

Another fish that has been making a solid come back to the area is Triple Tail. I saw a lot more of these fish this summer than most. Dan featured above caught a monster this year. That is a 20 pounder that could not resits the shrimp presented to him. The Tarpon bite this summer was a little slow. We did have a couple of encounters though. There is a video on my Instagram page(@CaptainJimFortman) of a battle that Pat had and won.
Still no red tide present. The water is CLEAN!
